Planning Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Planning Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling for oil & gas-related projects including rig construction refurbishment and brownfield works. The ideal candidate should have a solid engineering background and be highly proficient in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project to support planning activities across both the proposal and execution phases of the project lifecycle.

• Prepare and manage detailed project schedules from proposal stage through execution ensuring alignment with project scope timelines and deliverables.
• Develop and maintain project timelines, work breakdown structures (WBS) and progress tracking systems for onshore and offshore oil & gas projects.
• Assign resources to activities in the schedule to ensure effective and accurate tracking of progress, productivity and resource utilization.
• Monitor schedule performance and update timelines using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project incorporating actual progress and forecasting future trends.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement and construction teams to ensure alignment between scope, schedule and resources.
• Conduct critical path analysis, identify schedule risks and develop mitigation or recovery plans.
• Provide regular look‑ahead schedules, progress reports, S‑curves and dashboards for project management and clients.
• Support project teams with delay analysis, extension of time (EOT) justifications and variance analysis.
• Participate in internal and client meetings presenting schedule status updates and action items.
• Ensure compliance with planning and reporting procedures, contractual requirements and project execution strategies.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or related field).
• Minimum 5 years of planning experience in oil & gas projects including rig construction, refurbishment and EPC works.
• Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
• Solid knowledge of planning concepts, project controls, resource loading and performance measurement.
• Experience in preparing and managing schedules across both proposal and execution stages.
• Excellent understanding of construction processes and oil & gas project lifecycle.
• Strong communication, coordination and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Candidates MUST be immediately available and currently in the UAE.
