Project Engineer, Civil Engineering

Role Overview

This position is for two full-time, on‑site Project Engineers located in Dubai working on projects across the UAE. The Project Engineer will be responsible for co‑ordinating site operations, managing construction activities, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess solid technical expertise and effective communication skills. This role offers a chance to work on varied projects and work towards becoming a project manager.

• General
  • Promotes DTA to internal and external clients.
  • Supports Project team to manage the design process during concept development until a coordinated design is achieved.
  • Provides necessary support to Project team, as directed, to ensure all project deliverables are met within the client time frames.
  • Manages multiple and varied projects simultaneously.
• Scheduling
  • Maintains detailed project documentation and prepares regular progress reports for internal line manager(s) review adhering to predetermined timelines.
  • Prepares draft program for line manager(s) review at project commencement until a definitive program is submitted by the contractor.
• Problem Solving
  • Reports any issues that arise to the Project Team in a timely manner during the construction process with potential solutions, from technical challenges to logistical problems.
• Site Management
  • Manages contractors on site, ensuring that the highest quality is achieved along with timely project completion.
• Documentation and Reporting
  • Schedules and attends weekly progress meetings with a view to subsequently hosting meetings unaccompanied.
  • Documents progress meeting minutes and prepares them for line manager(s) review within specified timelines.
  • Completes and submits weekly and monthly project reports for line manager(s) review within the specified project timelines.
• Communication
  • Maintains high level of communication with line managers(s) to ensure they are aware of any potential concerns relating to their projects.

• Minimum Civil Engineering/Architecture degree or related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years UAE experience.
• Local authority approval process knowledge.
• Basic MEP understanding and ability to read and understand technical shop drawings.
• AutoCAD knowledge.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite of products.
• High level of written and verbal communication in English.
• Experience managing contractors on site.
• Presentable, punctual and professional attitude.
• Must be resident in the UAE, hold a valid UAE driving licence and have own transport as travel to other Emirates is expected.
• Eager to learn and develop and able to request assistance when needed. We work as a team and so collaboration is key.
• Professional approach in all communication with stakeholder (clients, project consultants and contractors, DTA team, etc).
