Job DescriptionAs a Structural Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Steelwork Competence Team, responsible for ensuring optimal steelwork solutions during both the Sales and Execution phases of projects. Your role will involve collaborating with Sales and Engineering teams, other departments and external suppliers, to develop technical and commercial proposals. Given the critical importance of steelwork in all airport solutions, you will oversee the complete technical structural solution, ensuring it aligns with customer requirements.
You will delegate work to team members and external suppliers, focusing on high‑level oversight rather than detailed involvement. To maintain competitiveness, you will leverage your experience to continuously improve and optimize our processes and technical standards for steelwork solutions.
- Design or coordinate the design of steel structures for airport projects.
- Recommend technical, cost‑effective steelwork solutions for Airport projects.
- Represent the Steelwork scope in a demanding multi‑disciplinary project environment.
- Coordinate the Steelwork designs internally and/or with external suppliers and engineering companies.
- Estimate steel tonnages and budget the Steelwork scope.
- Perform sanity checks on critical parts of the Steelwork scope.
- Collect and summarize relevant technical information (e.g., local legislation, standards, codes, earthquake risk indicators, fire ratings).
- Prepare RFQ packages for suppliers and review quotes.
- Report on the project progress toward project leads.
- Verify that quality of the construction meets requirements.
- Own internal improvements to optimize processes and technical standards for the steelwork scope.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
- Entry‑level or some years of experience in Structural Engineering.
- Proficiency in drawing software (AutoCAD 2D/3D, Revit) and structural analysis software (SCIA, AxisVM, Robot, Cype).
- Willingness to travel and work on‑site (up to 5% of the time).
- Analytical, cost‑aware, result‑driven and efficient organizer.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Capable of switching between major topics and details.
- Fluent in English.
