We are seeking an enthusiastic Contract Design Engineer to join our close-knit Engineering team s role offers a great opportunity for a motivated self-starter to grow their skills and become a key contributor within the Contract Engineering team. You will focus on producing engineering solutions to meet our customers' exacting technical specifications.

You will work as part of a small Engineering team, interacting closely with pre- and post-sales departments to develop design solutions. Design tasks will be varied with a strong electromechanical bias. You will work to tight timescales to produce accurate and complete design packages, enabling our manufacturing facility to produce product variations with minimal disruption.

The role is permanently based at the LME facility and reports locally to the Head of Commercial Engineering. Utilising the Lucy PLM system to generate complete design solutions that meet the customer requirements in accordance with company procedures and policies.

• Plan and execute allocated activities within specified timelines.
• Produce accurate and complete wiring schematics and generate manufacturing drawings.
• Develop mechanical design solutions to house and deliver required functionality within cost and quality constraints.
• Comply with defined design processes to issue drawings and Bills of Material.
• Generate customer approval drawing packages to predefined requirements.
• Actively seek, offer, and implement suggestions for improvement.

• Degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering with an MV/LV switch gear background.
• 7 years of switch gear-related activity.
• Experience in auxiliary electrical, electronic, and protection systems for Switchgear applications.
• Sheet metal part design experience.
• Good communication skills in one-to-one or group environments.
• PC literate in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
