Deputy Principal

The Deputy Principal supports the principal in leading the nursery’s academic and operational functions. The role ensures high standards of early childhood education, staff performance, safeguarding, and parent engagement. The Deputy Principal will act as the Principal in their absence and contribute to the strategic growth of the nursery.

• Support the Principal in managing daily nursery operations.
• Supervise, mentor, and guide teaching and support staff.
• Conduct classroom observations and provide professional feedback.
• Assist in staff performance evaluations and professional development planning.
• Lead the nursery in the absence of the Principal.
• Oversee curriculum planning and implementation in line with early years standards.
• Monitor children’s progress, assessments, and development records.
• Ensure high‑quality teaching practices across all classrooms.
• Support continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

• Ensure implementation of safeguarding and child protection policies.
• Maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Support regulatory inspections and compliance requirements.

• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents.
• Address parent queries and concerns professionally.
• Support nursery events, meetings, and communication initiatives.

• Assist with staff scheduling and classroom coverage.
• Support admissions, enrollment, and retention efforts.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting systems.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in an early years setting.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of child development and early years curriculum.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Note: Experienced Lead Teachers with demonstrated leadership capability and strong performance records may also be considered for this position.
