Assistant Head Teacher; Primary
GEMS FirstPoint School is seeking to appoint an exceptional Assistant Head Teacher (Primary) to join our high-performing Primary leadership team from August 2026.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity within a large, premium-tier British curriculum school, rated Outstanding by BSO and Very Good by KHDA. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving excellence in teaching and learning, curriculum development, and pupil outcomes across the Primary phase (EYFS–Year
6).
This is a versatile leadership role, and the specific portfolio of responsibilities will be shaped around the strengths and expertise of the successful candidate. It is ideally suited to a highly capable and knowledgeable Primary leader who is ready to make a measurable impact across pedagogy, curriculum, and data-informed school improvement.
The role combines strategic leadership with a strong classroom presence.
Key priorities Teaching and learning- Lead and develop high-quality teaching and learning across the Primary phase
- Embed research-informed, evidence-led practice in classrooms
- Promote adaptive teaching to meet the needs of all learners
- Drive excellence across all curriculum areas
- Contribute to curriculum design, review, and refinement across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
- Ensure strong progression, challenge, and alignment with the National Curriculum and MOE subjects
- Support subject and phase leaders in curriculum implementation and evaluation of impact
- Use data and tracking systems to monitor progress and identify trends
- Lead and support student progress meetings and intervention planning
- Contribute to the strategic development of whole-school assessment, feedback, and reporting frameworks
- Ensure assessment is used effectively to inform teaching and secure strong pupil outcomes
- Monitor, evaluate, and quality assure academic provision across the Primary phase
- Conduct learning walks, book looks, moderation, and professional coaching conversations
- Support and challenge middle leaders to secure consistently strong outcomes
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Primary School Improvement Plan
- Support professional development and instructional coaching across the Primary phase
- Model excellent classroom practice
- Hold colleagues to account with clarity, integrity, and professionalism
- Promote a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvement
