Education
With students aged 3–18, DIS is a not-for-profit school and part of the Al-Futtaim Education Foundation. Founded in 2005, the school provides an outstanding, inclusive, and holistic education. Our recent inspection highlighted strengths including: staff pride, outstanding teaching, high expectations, respect and fair treatment of staff, a well-planned curriculum, and a focus on academic progress and achievement.

DIS is home to a diverse student body representing over 90 nationalities. Our facilities support a holistic approach to education with opportunities across sport, performing arts, technology, leadership, creativity, and academic enrichment. The school is non-selective at admission, and students achieve examination results comparable to top UK schools and progress to leading universities. Digital literacy is embedded across the curriculum to prepare students for a rapidly changing world.

In the Early Years, students are assessed against the EYFS framework; in Primary, pupils follow a broad curriculum; in Secondary, students complete IGCSEs and may progress to the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) or IB Career-related Programme (IBCP).

DIS is governed by the Al-Futtaim Education Foundation (AFEF), a not-for-profit initiative supporting the Government of Dubai and KHDA to deliver future-ready education and maximise positive social impact.

The uptake for Economics and Business Studies has increased in IGCSE and IB in the last 3 years. The successful candidate will be highly motivated with a strong track record for attainment and progress, possess an excellent degree in a relevant subject, and have a genuine enthusiasm for Business Studies.

Experience in teaching IB Business Studies is not essential but would be advantageous. You should be able to inspire and motivate students with a diverse range of talent and ability and participate in extracurricular activities such as the Wall Street Crasher and the Young Entrepreneur of the Year, as showcased in our Winter and Summer festivals.

The successful applicant will be required to have the following

• Experience teaching GCSE Business Studies is essential; A Level/IB Experience is desirable.
• A
  
  B.Ed. or degree in a related subject and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent with exceptional subject knowledge.
• A proven track record of outstanding learning and teaching.
• A mindset which understands all students have the potential for top performance, and the drive and passion to enable them to do so.
• Experience contributing to an enriched curriculum programme.
