Position Overview
We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic Middle School Arabic B Teachers to join our dedicated team from August 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for educators who are passionate about Middle School Arabic education and are eager to contribute to the academic success of our students.
Job PurposeTo ensure that each student achieves academic success, develops a lifelong love of learning, and becomes a responsible citizen in a global community. This goal will be accomplished through the offering of an enriched American curriculum taught by a highly qualified faculty committed to motivating students and working in partnership with parents.
Key Responsibilities- Embrace and encourage the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values.
- Ensure that GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
- Model and encourage a culture of kindness.
- Display a wide variety of developmentally appropriate teaching strategies that meet individual student needs and abilities, including: meeting the learning needs of late‑entering students, ESL students, students with low academic ability and those who are gifted and talented; skillfully using verbal and non‑verbal communications; previewing and communicating learning objectives to students in a clear, logical and sequential manner.
- Show evidence of superior preparation for classroom instruction, such as using appropriate examples and illustrations to motivate all students, creating and utilizing appropriate materials for instructional purposes, assessing and adjusting the classroom environment to provide for a variety of learning styles, providing information that enriches the curriculum, and drawing from a variety of instructional resources to enhance lessons, instruction, and content based on DAA standards.
- Display competence and confidence in using media and technology, effectively using computer instruction for both self and students to integrate and enhance classroom lessons, and seeking ongoing instructional technology staff development opportunities.
- Plan and implement strategies that encourage student self‑discipline, reinforce appropriate behaviour, manage disruptive behaviour constructively, and allow for grouping of students in the most efficient way to support learning objectives—keeping students on the learning task, being adaptive, flexible and creative in situations caused by a variety of individual student needs.
- Monitor and supervise safe and appropriate student behaviour at all times for all students throughout the school.
- Bring out the best in students by continually monitoring their work: returning assessment results promptly, giving written comments, providing group and individual feedback on all assignments, and providing specific evaluative feedback with reinforcement and encouragement.
- Motivate students to achieve beyond previous performance levels, set high expectation standards appropriate for each student’s ability level, and model and encourage cultural awareness and understanding.
- Recognise the need for appropriate classroom humour, demonstrate the ability to create and maintain enthusiasm for the love of learning, and show a concern for students and celebrate their accomplishments.
- Provide leadership in curriculum and instructional development, serving as a role model, taking advantage of opportunities to learn from others, keeping abreast of developments related to teaching, promoting good working relationships with others through active leadership and sharing of ideas, materials and experiences.
- Promote good rapport with students, staff, parents and community: respecting confidentiality of student and staff concerns, keeping parents informed of their children’s progress, establishing and maintaining records of curriculum and year plans, teaching resources and assessment tools relevant to DAA standards, working cooperatively with colleagues to connect learning across subject disciplines, demonstrating accurate and up‑to‑date knowledge of curriculum and subject matter, maintaining superior work attendance, adhering to school policies and implementing regulations, recognising the…
