We are seeking a strong, experienced Head of Secondary to join our client in Dubai, starting August 2019. The school is located about 35 minutes from the centre of Dubai and is a NEASC accredited institution. It has a mixed pool of students that are warm, friendly and keen to learn. Behavioural issues are minimal.
Responsibilities- Establishing goals and expectations: setting, communicating and monitoring learning goals, standards and expectations, ensuring clarity and consensus among staff and stakeholders.
- Strategic resourcing: aligning resource selection and allocation to priority goals, including staff appointments and expertise provision.
- Planning, coordinating and evaluating teaching and curriculum: direct involvement in supporting and evaluating teaching through regular classroom visits, provision of formative and summative feedback, and oversight of curriculum across subjects and year levels in alignment to school goals.
- Promoting and participating in teacher learning and development: leading and engaging teachers in formal and informal professional learning.
- Ensuring an orderly and supportive environment: protecting teaching and learning time by reducing external pressures and interruptions, creating a supportive environment inside and outside classrooms.
- Degree in Education or a Degree with a valid teaching qualification
- M.Ed in Educational Leadership
- At least 5 years management experience
- Western‑trained
- A high command of written or spoken English
- Experience of the USA Common Core
- Up to date with modern pedagogy

Application Requirements
Qualification:
M.Ed,
B.Ed or relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years. Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa) and a native speaker of English. Newly Qualified Teachers are NOT considered. Prefer candidates with international experience. Open University qualifications are NOT accepted. Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted.
Additional:
Experience of teaching in the Middle East is beneficial. Experience of working in an Islamic environment/students is beneficial. Experience of the USA Curriculum is MANDATORY.
