The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Primary STEM Teacher with Middle Leadership Responsibilities to join our successful Primary team for the new academic year. The successful candidate will deliver high quality STEM teaching across the Primary phase and play a key role in shaping, developing and embedding an engaging, progressive STEM curriculum that inspires curiosity, problem solving and real‑world application.

Responsibilities
  • Planning, delivering and evaluating high quality STEM lessons aligned with the English National Curriculum and school expectations
  • Assessing, recording and reporting on student progress, attainment and development
  • Using assessment data to inform teaching, track progress and implement timely interventions
  • Communicating effectively with parents, including the completion of reports and attendance at Parents’ Evenings and Open Evenings
  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, engagement and learning
  • Working collaboratively within a team to support curriculum development and consistency of practice
  • Contributing to departmental and whole school initiatives, events and enrichment opportunities
  • Keeping up to date with curriculum developments, research and best practice in STEM education
  • Participating fully in CPD and contributing to personal and professional development
  • Working effectively with teaching assistants and support staff
  • Setting appropriate work where absence is known in advance
  • Taking responsibility for a designated area of the curriculum, innovation or project
  • Carrying out other duties as reasonably directed by the Head of Department or Senior Leadership
  • Familiarising themselves with the DSIB inspection framework and expectations of outstanding teaching and learning in the UAE
  • Supporting UAE initiatives and respecting cultural expectations
Candidate Profile
  • Hold relevant qualifications and QTS (BEd or Bachelor’s degree with PGCE, PGDE or equivalent)
  • Have experience teaching within a British curriculum school
  • Be enthusiastic, inspiring and passionate about STEM education
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge across science, mathematics and wider STEM disciplines
  • Have experience teaching STEM across the Primary phase
  • Have a secure understanding of assessment and progress tracking
  • Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with evidence of strong pupil progress
  • Work effectively as part of a collaborative team and willingly share best practice
  • Keep up to date with developments in STEM education and pedagogy
  • Show a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Have excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills
  • Have experience of holding, or readiness to take on, a middle leadership responsibility
  • Demonstrate the ability to support and influence colleagues positively

    Have an understanding of curriculum leadership and school improvement within a UK curriculum context

  • A demonstration lesson will be required.
