Adjunct Faculty - Law - Block - BAL
Overview
De Montfort University Dubai is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Adjunct Faculty member in Law to support undergraduate teaching within the LLB programme
. This role is ideal for an academic or legal practitioner with strong expertise in professional legal skills, advocacy, and core areas of law
, and a commitment to excellence in teaching, student support, and high-quality legal education.
You will contribute to the delivery and enhancement of undergraduate teaching during Block 3 (9 February – 27 March), with a primary focus on the module LLLB
2003D – Inter-Professional Legal Skills
, supporting students in developing essential academic, professional, and practical legal competencies.
- Teach and assess undergraduate modules in Law, with a focus on Inter-Professional Legal Skills
. - Deliver teaching in areas including professional skills, advocacy, police powers, contract law, constitutional law, employment law, and international law
. - Support students in developing legal reasoning, communication, teamwork, and professional conduct
. - Provide academic and personalised feedback to support student progress and achievement.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of module content, assessments, and learning materials
. - Ensure teaching and assessment align with UK higher education academic standards and quality assurance requirements.
- Undertake administrative duties associated with the module, including induction, assessment, moderation, and student support
. - Work collegially with academic and professional services staff in line with DMU values
. - Contribute to a respectful, inclusive and student-centred learning environment.

- Research-informed and practice-based legal education
- A UK undergraduate degree in Law or a non-Law degree plus CPE/GDL (Required).
- A postgraduate degree in Law or a related discipline and/or qualification as a Barrister or Solicitor (Desirable).
- All academic qualifications must be attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
- UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) equivalency is mandatory for teaching allocation in line with CAA and KHDA requirements

- Proven experience teaching and assessing in higher education
. - Demonstrated experience teaching or supporting professional legal skills and core law modules
. - Experience managing or contributing to module materials and assessments (Desirable).
- Familiarity with UK and European higher education standards (Preferred).
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to deliver engaging, coherent and student-focused teaching.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet academic deadlines.
- Commitment to delivering an excellent student experience and supporting academic and career progression.
- Confidence using learning technologies to enhance teaching and engagement.
- Positive, collaborative and professional approach to team working.
