We are seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated School Counsellor to join our dynamic team. You will have some responsibility for the whole school practices, but be a specialist in the area of primary counselling (Age 3-11). You will contribute and liaise frequently with inclusion, education and behaviour specialists. You will support families on a need’s basis, delivering appropriate intervention to children to support their wellbeing, resilience and emotional wellbeing.

• Provide short-term, solution-focused counselling for pupils experiencing emotional, social, or behavioral challenges.
• Support pupils with anxiety, friendship issues, emotional dysregulation, low self-esteem, and school-related stress.
• Maintain high quality communication from and within the school. Liaises with tact and diplomacy with school staff, parents and representatives of the external organizations.
• Facilitate and coordinate all Counselling functions to ensure the smooth running of the Department.
• Ensure that all school policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
• Collaborate with the Primary Inclusion Team and Designated Safeguarding Lead.

• Previous experience within an outstanding Counselling department.
• Master's Degree in counselling or equivalent
• Qualification in play therapy (desirable)
• Experience working with pupils across all Primary School stages and abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Skilled at using digital tools to ensure that learning is enriched and relevant so as to complement the schools Apple Distinguished School’s status.
