Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), located in Dubai, UAE, the first accredited smart/online learning university in the region, is seeking exceptional scholars who are passionate about advancing innovative online education. Faculty are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in a fully online environment, contribute to the development of engaging digital course content, and maintain an active record of research and scholarly contributions in their specific field.

Candidates who have not yet completed their terminal degree must provide clear evidence of expected completion prior to the start date.
At HBMSU, we are seeking dynamic faculty members who will thrive in a blended academic environment. Successful candidates will reside in the UAE and be physically present on our campus, engaging actively with learners and colleagues. While teaching will be delivered fully online – whether asynchronous or synchronous – faculty are expected to participate in on‑campus meetings, events, and face‑to‑face interactions when required.
Beyond teaching, faculty will contribute to impactful research aligned with AACSB requirements and School thought leadership criteria, publish in reputable journals, mentor students, and provide academic service while maintaining a strong on‑campus presence. In addition, they will take part in university life by joining committees, supporting community initiatives, and participating regularly in campus events, ensuring they are an integral part of our vibrant academic community.

Roles & Responsibilities :
- Teaching
:
Delivering advanced courses on topics such as Quality 4.0, research methods, service excellence, and strategy using HBMSU’s interactive smart learning platforms. - Curriculum Development
:
Designing and updating course materials to incorporate emerging trends like digital transformation and the experience economy. - Research
:
Publishing in high‑impact, peer‑reviewed journals while applying multidisciplinary approaches (e.g., social sciences, IT, data analytics) to address modern quality management challenges. Pursuing research funding opportunities is encouraged. - Mentorship
:
Supervising Ph.D. dissertations and guiding scholars in rigorous research methodologies and ethical practices. - Professional Development
:
Developing and delivering workshops and seminars for professionals in quality management. - Service
:
Contributing to program accreditation, academic governance, and outreach activities to enhance the program’s visibility.
Required qualification & skills
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in at least one of the listed areas from an AACSB‑accredited university (ABD candidates near completion will be considered)
- Candidates should demonstrate strong scholarly preparation with the ability to teach and publish effectively in English.
- Strong record of research or clear evidence of research potential (ABDs should have working papers on track for submission to top‑tier journals)
- Must meet SBQM’s AACSB academic qualification criteria
- Ability to teach and engage learners effectively in online undergraduate and graduate programs
