Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and passionate University Counselling Coordinator to lead and develop our careers and university guidance provision across the secondary school. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to support students in making informed decisions about their post‑school pathways and university applications.
The University Counselling Coordinator will oversee the planning, delivery, and evaluation of careers and university guidance, ensuring high‑quality, confidential support in line with best practice and regulatory requirements. Working closely with school leadership and teaching staff, the role plays a key part in embedding careers education within the wider curriculum.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the university counselling department
- Provide one‑to‑one and group careers and university guidance to secondary students
- Lead and coordinate the university admissions process for Year 13 students
- Deliver a structured careers and university guidance curriculum
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards
- Work collaboratively with school leadership and staff to integrate guidance into the curriculum
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the careers programme and implement improvements
- Organise careers events, internships, work experience, and employer engagement opportunities
- Act as the main liaison between the school, universities, and external education partners
- Has experience supporting students with university applications (UK, US, Europe and/or international systems desirable)
- Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills
- Is student‑centred, discreet, and committed to safeguarding and confidentiality
- Has experience working in a school or educational setting
