Role
This senior role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding, child protection, and wellbeing across schools in the region. You will provide expert guidance, challenge, and assurance to ensure safeguarding is consistently embedded, robust, and effective.
Responsibilities- Support schools across the region to maintain exemplary safeguarding, child protection, and wellbeing practices.
- Review and validate annual safeguarding self‑assessments through in‑person visits and virtual reviews.
- Hold schools accountable for addressing risks, concerns, and improvement actions in partnership with Principals and Designated Safeguarding Leads.
- Provide expert leadership during safeguarding incidents or crises, ensuring appropriate escalation, decision‑making, and communication.
- Play a key role in the integration of new schools and business units, embedding safeguarding frameworks, governance, and ways of working during periods of growth, transition, or acquisition.
- Deliver advanced safeguarding training (including Level
3), promote best practice, and support regional wellbeing initiatives. - Analyse safeguarding data to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement, supporting due diligence and quality assurance activity.
- Act as a regional ambassador for safeguarding, collaborating with global colleagues to uphold Nord Anglia’s vision and values.
- Significant experience in safeguarding, child protection, and wellbeing within complex, regulated environments (education experience advantageous but not essential).
- A recognised advanced safeguarding qualification (e.g. DSL / Level 3 or equivalent).
- Demonstrable experience supporting integration, acquisition, or organisational change, embedding safeguarding frameworks effectively.
- Strong operational leadership capability, with the confidence to support and challenge senior leaders.
- Experience managing safeguarding incidents, investigations, case management, and risk assessment.
- Ability to analyse safeguarding data and use insight to inform improvement and assurance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgement, resilience, and cross‑cultural awareness.
- A collaborative, pragmatic, and solutions‑focused approach aligned with a purpose‑led organisation.
