Learning & Development Coordinator at Waldorf Astoria International Financial Centre
A Learning & Development Coordinator at Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre is primarily responsible for the proactive planning and implementation of the day-to-day tasks of the L&D department. The L&D Coordinator will also assist all departments in achieving the Learning & Development objectives.
What will I be doing?A Learning & Development Coordinator will be required to conduct their duties in a courteous, safe, and efficient manner, in accordance with the hotel’s policies and procedures, ensuring that “The Greatest of Them All” standards level is maintained. Specifically, a L&D Coordinator will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Assist in the onboarding process and coordinate all required tasks to ensure a luxury arrival experience for all new joiners, in line with Waldorf Astoria brand standards and Forbes Travel Guide expectations.
- Ensure orientation plans are up to date and coordinate all logistical and administrative arrangements for the orientation programme.
- Coordinate pre-training arrangements for all L&D programmes, including BEOs, invitations, attendance sheets, training materials, prizes, and required tools.
- Prepare training materials, handouts, and supporting documents, ensuring that training rooms and setups meet Waldorf Astoria presentation standards.
- Regularly review and update the New Joiners’ Handbook, ensuring alignment with Hilton policies and Waldorf Astoria DIFC culture.
- Consolidate departmental training calendars on a monthly basis and ensure the master training calendar is accurately maintained.
- Assist in maintaining complete and accurate departmental training records, including training calendars, training plans, attendance sheets, and evaluations.
- Ensure timely assignment of Hilton University courses for new joiners and ongoing team member development, as guided by the L&D Manager.
- Maintain all annual mandatory and compliance training records, ensuring audit readiness at all times.
- Lead and maintain accurate submission, tracking, and electronic filing of all L&D documentation and trackers.
- Maintain e-records and filing of all training programmes and documents related to the performance management cycle, including Job Chats, Mid-Year Check-Ins, and PDRs.
- Prepare and issue training certificates as required.
- Update and maintain the Waldorf Astoria Legacy Wall in the Heart of the House, ensuring feedback and recognition are current and aligned with brand storytelling.
- Assist in planning and coordinating internship programmes and external cross-exposure opportunities.
- Lead internal cross-training activities, maintain accurate records, and communicate updates to team members.
- Assist in the co-facilitation of selected training sessions, including brand, service culture, and Forbes-related programmes.
- Support the design and preparation of presentations related to HR and L&D projects and initiatives.
- Assist in video shooting and editing for L&D-related materials, including brand, service, and training content.
- Support the planning and execution of HR and L&D initiatives, presentations, and projects.
- Assist in team member engagement initiatives, Thrive calendar planning, and execution of engagement events.
- Perform any other duties, projects, or tasks as assigned by the HR Director or L&D Manager.
A Learning & Development Coordinator at Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre works to support the hotel’s learning and development activities while collaborating with Team Members across all departments. To successfully fill this role, you should possess the following skills and characteristics:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role as Learning & Development Coordinator in a luxury hotel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
