The Role:As a Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist, you will provide expert diagnosis and management of complex eye disorders in children, contributing to the continued development of high‑quality ophthalmic services. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of experienced consultants and participate actively in teaching, training, and clinical research.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide specialist clinical care to paediatric patients with a wide range of ophthalmic conditions.
- Lead and participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning.
- Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support academic and teaching activities within the institution's training programmes.
- Engage in research and scholarly activities aligned with the institution's academic mission.
- Recognised medical degree and completion of specialist training in Ophthalmology with subspecialty expertise in Paediatric Ophthalmology.
- Board Certification (UK CCT, US/Canadian Board, Australian/NZ Fellowship, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3‑5 years' post‑consultant experience.
- Proven track record in clinical excellence, teaching, and research.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient‑centred care.
