INTERIOR SITE ARCHITECT

John R Harris & Partners – Dubai is currently looking for an Interior Site Architect to join our growing Supervision team to support recent project appointments in UAE. The ideal candidate shall be an Interior Designer or Architect with a minimum of 12 years of work experience of which 5 years shall be within UAE. The candidate is expected to have excellent communication skills and shall have the ability to work and deliver projects in a collaborative and professional work environment.

The Interior Site Architect will be responsible to carry-out detailed inspection for mock-ups, first-in-place inspections, carry-out period compliance check with design intent and details snagging  Interior Site Architect must have successfully completed execution of Hospitality interior construction projects in Middle East.

• Attending weekly progress meetings supporting the Resident Engineer.
• Chairing technical meetings with the Client, Contractor and Subcontractor and documenting the meetings.
• Monitoring and reviewing progress of project and quality of work as per the terms of the contract.
• Attendance or representation as appropriate at all project-related meetings.
• Reviewing and monitoring the Interior works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents.
• Reviewing, and processing all interior design technical submittals.
• Answering RFIs related to interior design.
• Coordinating and supervising all interior design works.
• Reviewing contractor’s change order proposals and preparing recommendations for Resident Engineer.
• Liaison and coordinate with all necessary sub consultants.
• Reviewing contractors’ claims related to interior works and preparing recommendations for claims to Resident Engineer.
• Monitoring and reporting on the contractor’s activities on site with respect to technical and contractual compliance.
• Adequately respond to all contractor’s letters, communications and claims in a timely manner as per the terms of the contract.
• Review and approval of as-built drawings guarantees, warranties, maintenance manuals, spare parts and close-out reports.

• Total 10-12 years of work experience, with minimum 5-year experience as Interior Site Architect in luxury hospitality projects.
• Ability to read and interpret interior design renders, samples and drawings.
• Strong understanding of interior construction processes.
• Knowledge of local construction laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of international and regional construction codes & standards.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Familiarity with Site inspection and snagging software preferred.
• Computer proficiency in use of tools including AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up.
