Leading Dubai Developer | Design Development & Technical Coordination Role Overview

The Principal Architect plays a critical role in translating design intent into technical deliverables and ensuring the successful coordination of architectural works across both design and construction phases. This position involves close collaboration with internal teams, consultants and site teams to deliver accurate and fully coordinated drawings and oversee implementation on-site.

The Lead Architect supports the Design Manager and Principal Architect in maintaining the highest standards of architectural quality and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in architectural practice with strong technical delivery background
• Proven track record working on large-scale residential or mixed-use developments in the UAE
• Expert knowledge of Shop Drawing production, coordination, and review processes
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM coordination tools
• In-depth understanding of UAE building codes, regulations, and authority approval processes
• Extensive experience coordinating with MEP, structural, and façade consultants
• Demonstrated ability to manage drawing packages from design through construction stages
• Experience conducting site inspections and resolving on-site technical issues
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and buildability
• Excellent attention to detail with rigorous QA/QC approach
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder and contractor coordination
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight project deadlines
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture (mandatory)
• Professional registration or accreditation (preferred)
• Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage)

• Lead the development and production of architectural drawings, including Shop Drawings, during the design, schematic and detailed design stages
• Ensure drawings accurately reflect the design intent, project requirements and regulatory standards
• Coordinate with consultants, MEP engineers, structural teams and other stakeholders for drawing integration
• Conduct technical reviews of all architectural documentation for precision and clarity
• Review and validate Shop Drawings submitted by contractors and consultants, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards
• Identify and resolve any inconsistencies or clashes in coordination with relevant stakeholders
• Ensure timely delivery of design packages and revisions in line with project timelines
• Oversee the transition from design to construction, ensuring the correct implementation of Shop Drawings on-site
• Attend site visits, inspections and coordination meetings to monitor progress and resolve design-related issues
• Provide technical support to site teams and ensure alignment with design expectations
• Ensure all architectural work complies with local codes, authority regulations and company quality standards
• Support the Design Manager in submitting documentation for permits and approvals as needed
• Participate in design QA/QC processes and ensure consistency in drawing outputs and formats
• Collaborate with the Design Manager, Principal Architect and wider team to support architectural excellence
• Provide guidance on technical challenges to other team members if required
• Perform any other ad hoc duties or special projects as assigned by the Principal Architect or Design Director
