We are seeking a highly skilled Garment Pattern Maker / Construction Specialist with extensive experience in developing a wide range of garments — from basic T‑shirts to complex constructions such as suits and evening dresses.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of garment production, pattern development, and fabric behavior, along with hands‑on expertise in CAD pattern‑making systems such as Optitex and Gerber
. The role requires high precision, attention to detail, and the ability to convert design concepts into accurate production‑ready patterns.
Pattern makers typically interpret design sketches and convert them into precise patterns while ensuring correct fit, construction, and production feasibility.
Key Responsibilities- Develop accurate garment patterns from design sketches, tech packs, or samples.
- Create, edit, and grade patterns using CAD software (
Optitex / Gerber
). - Handle garment construction for a wide range of products, including:
- T-shirts and casual wear
- Formal shirts
- Suits and jackets
- Dresses and evening wear
- Prepare marker layouts to optimize fabric utilization.
- Work closely with design, sampling, and production teams to ensure correct fit and construction.
- Modify patterns after sample fittings and implement necessary corrections.
- Ensure patterns are production‑ready with accurate seams, darts, and allowances.
- Guide sample tailors and cutting teams during garment development.
- Maintain digital pattern archives and technical documentation.
- Ensure proper grading across multiple sizes for bulk production.
- Strong expertise in garment construction and pattern development.
- Proficiency in CAD software:
Optitex and Gerber
. - Knowledge of pattern grading and marker making.
- Understanding of fabric properties, drape, and shrinkage behavior.
- Ability to develop patterns for woven and knit garments.
- Strong precision, measurement accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Experience with industrial sewing and garment production processes.
- Diploma / Degree in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, or Pattern Making.
- 8–10 years of experience in garment pattern making and construction.
- Experience working with industrial garment production environments.
