Content & Visual Communications Specialist Position Overview

The Content & Visual Communications Specialist plays a key role in shaping the brand’s digital presence by creating compelling visual and written content across all platforms. This position is responsible for managing the complete content lifecycle — from conceptualisation and planning to production, editing, publishing, and performance analysis. The role requires a strong balance of creative vision, technical capability, and strategic thinking to ensure that all content effectively supports the organisation’s marketing goals and enhances audience engagement.

This specialist will work closely with the marketing team to maintain consistent brand identity, support campaign objectives, and produce content that drives growth and retention across social media and digital channels.

Detailed Responsibilities Content Production
  • Shoot and edit professional-quality videos and photographs using cameras, mobile devices, and other equipment.
  • Produce a variety of content formats including reels, shorts, interviews, product showcases, event coverage, and behind-the-scenes material.
  • Prepare scripts, storyboards, and shot lists to support structured content creation.
  • Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines, tone, and visual standards.
Content Planning & Calendar Management
  • Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar aligned with marketing campaigns and business objectives.
  • Coordinate production timelines, posting schedules, and asset delivery to ensure timely execution.
  • Identify opportunities for trending, seasonal, or topical content to maximise engagement.
Content Optimization & Analysis
  • Monitor performance metrics such as reach, retention, watch time, click-through, and engagement.
  • Analyse audience behaviour and platform insights to identify what content performs best.
  • Use data-driven recommendations to refine content strategies and improve overall effectiveness.
Copywriting & Creative Development
  • Write captions, descriptions, scripts, and other supporting copy tailored to each platform.
  • Ensure all written communication is clear, engaging, and aligned with the brand voice.
  • Collaborate with designers and marketers to develop creative ideas for campaigns and visual storytelling.
Shoot Planning & Coordination
  • Plan and organise photoshoots and video shoots, including location scouting, equipment setup, and logistics.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, models, or external vendors when needed.
  • Ensure smooth execution of shoot days with attention to detail and time management.
Social Media Strategy & Support
  • Contribute to organic growth strategies by recommending new formats, trends, and content ideas.
  • Support community engagement by preparing visual assets for stories, posts, and replies.
  • Assist with campaign execution, events, and other marketing activities as required.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work with the marketing and operations teams to ensure content supports broader business objectives.
  • Provide visual support for website updates, presentations, brochures, and internal communication materials.
  • Maintain an organised library of assets for quick access and future use.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong expertise in composition, lighting, colour balance, and overall visual storytelling.
  • Working knowledge of camera settings and the technical aspects of shooting.
  • Proficiency in editing high-quality videos with sound design, transitions, and retention-focused pacing.
  • Solid understanding of design principles and the ability to apply them in digital content.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret social media insights and performance data.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Creative thinker capable of presenting new ideas and adapting to evolving trends.
Tools & Platforms
  • Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar professional video editing tools.
  • Canva for quick design creation and templated content.
  • Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom for photo editing.
  • Adobe After Effects for motion graphics and advanced visual effects (preferred).
  • Knowledge of AI-driven image/video tools (added advantage).
