Job Purpose
The incumbent is responsible to study and understand the requisition of materials from the various jobs/contracts, source for ideal suppliers, negotiate the optimum prices and manage appropriate logistics for delivery. He will effectively manage the inventory levels as per the prescribed norms.
Job Responsibilities- Assist the superior in procuring Materials, Equipment’s, Equipment hire, Labour Hire, Subcontracts and Services to the job site according to the company’s purchasing policies and procedures
- Obtain and review quotes from Suppliers, and make recommendations to the Senior Officer Purchase.
- Place orders with Suppliers and ensure timely delivery of Materials, Equipment’s, Equipment hire, Labour Hire, Subcontracts and Services to the job site
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases and inventory
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and quality of products
- Work closely with Divisional Managers, Project Managers, Site Managers and other team members so as to understand the material / service requirements in order procure the same as per the site requirements
- Identify potential cost savings opportunities and report them to the superiors
- Ensure compliance with all specification and quantities required for the project including regulatory and legal requirements
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors in order to improve purchase experience
- Continuously evaluate and improve the procurement process to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Officer Purchase / Management
Qualifications
- Graduation preferably in Commerce / Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Supply chain certification would be a plus
Experience
- 5 years of experience in Project materials purchase in an Electrical Contracting Company – Dealing in High Voltage, Low Voltage, Solar, Energy Savings etc.
- Proficient in ERP – MM Module, SAP would be plus.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel & MS Office
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and supply chain management
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
