Position: Strategic Partnerships Development Manager, YouTube Shopping (English, Arabic)

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking.
  • 5 years of business development experience, including identifying partners, structuring and negotiating agreements, or partner management as well as experience handling partnerships.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Arabic fluently to engage with clients in the region.
Preferred qualifications
  • MBA degree.
  • Experience interpreting legal documents, negotiating agreements and working with legal team members to draft and execute agreements.
  • Experience with management consulting with an understanding of You Tube products.
  • Experience partnering with brands, retailers, affiliate networks/providers with the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
  • Ability to communicate in Turkish fluently to support partner relationship management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills including an entrepreneurial and creative approach, attention to detail, demonstrated collaboration instincts with the ability to convey complex technical, financial or business details with clarity.
About The Job

You Tube shopping is a nascent effort inside You Tube that aims to make You Tube a shoptainment destination where viewers come to be inspired about products from their favorite creators, brands and merchants. You Tube is ideally positioned to be a shopping destination given all the existing user intent we see in searches/videos watched, the engagement we have from creators for features like selling merchandise and the inbound interest we have from merchants.

In this role, you will be a critical part of building an affiliate program for You Tube Shopping that enables creators to earn commissions from merchants for sales they drive. Specifically, you will be in charge of recruiting merchants to our affiliate program and working on initiatives to drive their engagement.

You will work closely with our Product and Engineering teams to identify opportunities for us to achieve our goals via partnerships and set partnership strategy. You will negotiate agreements, lead first-of-a-kind partnership programs, and manage complex partnerships. You will need to work closely with cross-functional teams within You Tube and Google (Legal, Content Partnerships, Strategy, Google Shopping etc.).

In addition to expert execution on You Tube’s strategy, you will serve as a strategic resource on areas you cover, you will represent the market to influence product roadmaps, and help lead go-to-market efforts to ensure the success of partner-related launches. You will be a partnership manager with a thoughtful, strategic approach to how we partner, and you possess a global perspective.

Responsibilities
  • Define partnership strategy to help achieve You Tube's Shopping goals, starting with the creator business generation.
  • Partner with brands and retailers to close agreements and drive engagement with new product features and marketing activations.
  • Become a domain expert and thought leader for your areas, understanding unique market dynamics and engaged landscapes.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with external partners, including negotiating agreements and partner management.
  • Incubate new products and formats, ensuring that critical partner feedback gets back to the cross-functional team to optimize product development.
