About the RoleWe are seeking a Temporary Procurement Officer to support the Procurement function role will primarily be responsible for assisting in the day‑to‑day procurement operations, ensuring the efficient processing of purchase requests, vendor management, and adherence to university procurement policies and procedures.
This temporary position provides an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to operational excellence to contribute to UOWD’s procurement activities in a dynamic academic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Process purchase requests and prepare purchase orders in accordance with UOWD’s procurement policies and guidelines.
- Support vendor management by maintaining supplier records and ensuring vendor compliance with institutional requirements.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations, ensuring value for money and alignment with procurement standards.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
- Monitor procurement timelines, approvals, and documentation for audit readiness.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of procurement transactions and reports.
- Ensure compliance with university procurement policies, budgetary controls, and internal audit requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Supply Chain Management, Operations Management etc.
Experience:
A minimum of 3‑4 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in a large/complex organisation.
Experience in using Oracle Fusion ERP is highly desirable.
Skills- Thorough knowledge of procurement.
- Problem solving skills and customer relations skills.
- Ability to use initiative, work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Computer proficiency including Word and Excel.
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Flexibility regarding working hours.
This is a full‑time position on temporary basis for a fixed term of 3 months which may be extended based on the requirements. The salary for this position is AED 6,000 to AED 7,000 based on the work experience and skills of the right candidate.
