Description

At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. One customer experience that we're constantly looking to take to a new level is how we fulfill and deliver orders. Our goal is to exceed the expectations of all our customers. To meet this goal, Amazon is continually striving to innovate and provide best-in-class service levels through the introduction of pioneering new products and services in the last mile delivery space.

The AMET (Africa, Middle East and Turkey) Fleet organization is responsible for managing and growing Amazon's Last Mile Fleet across the region. We are seeking an exceptional Senior Manager to lead Fleet Strategy, Planning and Programs for the AMET (Africa, Middle East, and Turkey) region — one of our fastest-growing and most dynamic markets.

In this pivotal role, you will be the strategic architect of AMET's fleet operations, responsible for the complete fleet lifecycle from demand forecasting and procurement to operational excellence and partner experience. You'll leverage sophisticated analytical modeling to predict fleet requirements years in advance, drive operational excellence through data-driven insights, and ensure our Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) have the tools and support they need to succeed.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of Amazon's logistics capabilities in a high-growth region. You'll work at the intersection of strategy, operations, analytics, and partnership management driving decisions that impact hundreds of millions of dollars in capital investments while building the foundation for sustainable growth.

The ideal candidate combines deep analytical capabilities with strong business acumen and exceptional stakeholder management skills. You'll need to be equally comfortable building sophisticated forecasting models, coaching operations teams on best practices, and presenting strategic recommendations to senior leadership. You'll thrive in ambiguity, design scalable solutions for emerging markets, and have a commitment to operational excellence and customer obsession.

This role requires approximately 30% travel across the AMET region to build relationships, conduct operational assessments, and drive change management initiatives.

Key job responsibilities
  • 1. Fleet Demand Planning & Forecasting
    • Design and develop scalable fleet demand modeling to predict last mile van / size requirements across Africa, Middle East, and Turkey.
    • Create demand plans for multiple vehicle specifications (diesel/electric, long/short wheel base, specialized configurations) across long-term strategic (+3 years), medium-term tactical (12-18 months), and short-term operational.
    • Consolidate input from diverse stakeholders to ensure fleet plans always consume the latest available assumptions and business strategies.
  • 2. Strategic Partnerships & Vendor Management
    • Develop and execute strategic partnerships across the AMET transportation ecosystem, focusing on long-term value creation with OEMs, rental/leasing providers, upfitting vendors, maintenance service providers, and parts suppliers (in partnership with Global Fleet Procurement).
    • Identify and capitalize on commercial opportunities through market analysis, competitive benchmarking, cost optimization initiatives, multi-country fleet sharing, and alternative supply channels (e.g., used vehicle markets).
  • 3. Network Capacity & Supply Chain Optimization
    • Lead strategic initiatives to optimize network capacity across AMET, balancing fleet supply and demand across stations, coordinating short-term deployment scheduling, and optimizing for seasonal demand variations.
    • Collaborate extensively with Finance business partners to ensure plans are efficient and meet peak demand requirements, drive efficient capital allocation (CAPEX), optimize operating expenses (OPEX), and develop Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models.
    • Develop innovative program management mechanisms to drive data-driven decision-making across make vs. buy vs. rent trade-offs, vehicle type mix optimization, asset utilization improvements, and investment prioritization.
    • Monitor and optimize key metrics to ensure smooth supply chain operations, addressing procurement lead times, parts availability, and cross-border logistics complexities unique to AMET markets.
  • 4. DSP Partner Experience & Voice of Customer
    • Establish and expand listening mechanisms to capture Delivery Service Partner feedback including regular surveys, sentiment analysis, focus groups, partner councils, operational data analysis, and direct engagement during station visits.
    • Analyze, report, and take action on customer feedback data to identify and drive opportunities to improve the level of service GFP offers to DSP partners, combining qualitative sentiment data with quantitative service benchmarking.
    • Identify and prioritize DSP pain points related to fleet operations including vehicle reliability, maintenance processes, administrative burden, cost transparency, and training gaps.
