Job Description
The Patient Admin Executive plays a crucial role in ensuring that healthcare facilities operate smoothly. This position involves managing administrative tasks related to patient care, ensuring that patients' experiences are streamlined from the moment they enter the facility until their visit is completed. The Patient Admin Executive is responsible for maintaining patient records, handling registration, scheduling appointments, billing, and addressing any queries.
They act as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, requiring excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach. Their role is vital in supporting healthcare professionals by ensuring that all administrative processes are handled efficiently and accurately, resulting in improved patient satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Facilitate patient registration by ensuring all necessary information is accurately collected and inputted.
- Organize and maintain comprehensive patient records in a secure and confidential manner.
- Schedule patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of healthcare professionals' time slots.
- Coordinate with medical staff to prepare documents and records for patient consultations.
- Address patients' inquiries about appointments, billing, and administrative processes effectively.
- Ensure all billing transactions are processed accurately and promptly for each patient visit.
- Assist with insurance claim submissions and follow-up on pending claims for timely resolution.
- Manage communication between patients and healthcare providers to facilitate smooth interactions.
- Keep the reception and waiting areas organized and welcoming for patients and visitors.
- Implement and maintain filing systems for easy access to medical and administrative records.
- Conduct initial patient orientations regarding facility navigation and available services.
- Act as a liaison to resolve any complaints or issues faced by patients or their families.
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a healthcare administrative role is highly desirable and advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in using healthcare management software and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and adapt to patient needs promptly.
