Clinical Nurse Specialist, RN Nurse
Key Responsibilities include:
Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct comprehensive assessments for patients with hematologic malignancies, including physical evaluations, medical history reviews, and symptom assessments such as fatigue, bruising, or bleeding. Monitor vital signs, laboratory values, and treatment responses to promptly identify changes in condition.
Chemotherapy Administration: Safely administer chemotherapy and other systemic therapies in accordance with established protocols. Verify accurate dosing, monitor for adverse reactions, and provide supportive interventions to reduce treatment-related complications.
Symptom Management: Assess and manage symptoms related to both disease and treatment, including pain, nausea, anemia, and neutropenia. Administer medications, implement comfort measures, and educate patients on self-management strategies to enhance comfort and quality of life.
Patient and Family
Education:
Provide clear education to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, expected side effects, and symptom management. Offer guidance on medication adherence and connect patients with supportive resources such as nutrition services, counseling, and financial assistance.
Care Coordination: Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team to create and carry our individualized care plans. Coordinate diagnostic testing, appointments, and specialty consultations to ensure continuity of care across the treatment journey.
Full time Days - 12-shift (7:00am - 7:30pm)
Your qualifications should include:- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in Nursing is required
- Current California RN license
- Minimum of three (3) years related experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart Association
- Chemotherapy/ Biotherapy Certificate or Chemotherapy/ Immunotherapy Certificate (Must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
