Logistics Coordinator (Temp to Perm)
Location: Droitwich Spa
Pay Rate: £13.50 - £14.50 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and fast-paced organisation based in Droitwich Spa
, who are looking to appoint a Logistics Coordinator on a temp-to-perm basis
. This role would suit an organised, proactive individual with experience in logistics coordination or transport planning, ideally within an industrial, engineering or production-led environment
.
The Logistics Coordinator will play a key role within the logistics function, supporting both operational and administrative activities to ensure the smooth movement of goods internally and externally.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing administrative functions within the logistics department
- Raising, supplying and managing documentation for subcontract operations
- Ensuring all release paperwork is completed, received and archived accurately
- Resolving any documentation or paperwork issues with subcontractors in a timely manner
- Updating production teams daily on subcontract movements and maintaining trackers when required
- Releasing, GRN'ing and archiving subcontract returns promptly
- Maintaining and updating internal systems relating to subcontract logistics
- Booking subcontract transport and liaising with suppliers to maximise loads and cost efficiency
- Booking deliveries into site and coordinating logistics schedules
- Communicating with drivers, warehouse teams, suppliers and customers
- Supporting supplier and customer communication as required
- Following and maintaining thermal and X-ray dispatch plans
- Making sound operational decisions in the absence of a supervisor
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and company procedures
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties as required by the business
- Previous experience in a Logistics Coordinator, Transport Planner or similar role
- Strong organisational and planning skills within a fast-paced environment
- Confident using Excel and spreadsheet-based systems
- Experience working within an industrial, engineering or production environment (advantageous)
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach
- Able to work independently, use initiative and prioritise effectively
- Previous FLT experience is advantageous (licence desirable but not essential; training available)
- A strong awareness of Health & Safety, with safety treated as a priority at all times
