Vax is a well‑known, market‑leading floor‑care brand based in Worcestershire. This opportunity offers a hybrid working model with three days in the office each week.

The role is within the busy accounting team, managing external and Group internal audit, liaising with internal finance and business teams, owning and managing cost centres, and performing month‑end duties including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, forecasting, and reporting to internal stakeholders.

• Lead on all financial and statutory accounting while maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of accounting standards, including foreign exchange hedge accounting
• Manage Corporation Tax queries and R&D tax credit application
• Manage VAT returns and HMRC compliance
• Recommend and implement improvements in the financial controlling and reporting environment
• Prepare and deliver audited financial statements
• Submit monthly management accounts and support the group finance team with Floorcare specific consolidation
• Support the Finance Director and finance team with ad‑hoc projects and tasks

• Strong organisational skills with deadline and deliverables focus
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills with high level of understanding of working with computerised systems
• Experience using ERP systems & reporting capabilities, favourably Microsoft Dynamics
• Strong technical understanding of UK GAAP, and IFRS group accounting, and proven comprehensive consolidation experience
• Experience in preparation of financial journals and management accounting
• Strong understanding of Corporation compliance requirements
• Excellent communication and business partnering skills, including ability to communicate effectively at all levels within VAX and with external stakeholders, and attention to detail and drive to personally succeed
