Position: Intervention Support Assistant (English Specialism) - Witton Middle School

Intervention Support Assistant (English Specialism) – Witton Middle School

Witton Middle School (SIPS), Droitwich, England –ויהו, We are looking to appoint a term‑time only Intervention Support Assistant in English who will predominantly support classroom teachers and deliver targeted reading and literacy interventions for Years 5, 6 and 7.

Responsibilities
  • Support classroom teachers in delivering the English curriculum.
  • Plan, deliver, and monitor the impact of English interventions, including reading, writing, punctuation, spelling and grammar.
  • Provide intervention support to children in the early stages of reading, regardless of chronological age.
  • Assist disadvantaged pupils at Key Stage 2 and 3, ensuring high‑quality teaching and whole‑school programmes.
Qualifications
  • GCSE English and Maths Grade 4 or above.
  • Recent experience working with children in a similar setting, delivering reading and literacy interventions.
  • Experience delivering intervention to support early reading stages.
  • Willingness to undergo DBS Enhanced Disclosure, satisfactory references, and pre‑employment checks.
Hours & Salary

Term time only – 27.5 hours per weekஅ. Salary: £26,403 – £28,142 p.a. (TA 3 grade 7–11). Pro‑rata: £16,352 – £17,820 p.a.
