C & D Foods is one of Europe’s leading Own Label Pet food manufacturers, producing a range of Wet and Dry Pet foods. The company operates 7 production facilities across 6 countries (Ireland, Denmark, Austria, Spain, The Netherlands, and the UK) and has 2 sales offices (Germany and Italy). Our Driffield site, located in East Yorkshire, is a major producer of dry pet food for the business.

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic production operative to work within a shift team in the plant's production area. The role involves driving area performance by adhering to procedures, maintaining and improving standards, and embracing change.

Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Running production lines to meet efficiency and productivity targets.

Collaborating with all areas of the business to improve overall site success and uphold the right first-time ethos.

Maintaining production requirements and maximizing throughput within plant capabilities.

Segregating and minimizing waste disposal.

Operating all machines and equipment according to standard settings to ensure product specifications are met.

Printing accurate labels to ensure traceability of products.

Carrying out tasks in accordance with SOPs, work instructions, and CCP checks as trained.

Recording area performance using the OEE system, including performance, breakdowns, and downtime.

Providing a smooth and detailed handover at shift change to ensure continuity.

Operating MHE and related equipment as trained, including operational checks.

Monitoring machinery output rates and notifying the shift manager if performance falls below expected levels.

Monitoring and recording wastage, and informing management if wastage exceeds expected levels.

Approaching problem-solving and process improvement proactively and practically.

Demonstrating a strong work ethic, perseverance, and flexibility.

Being organized and able to adapt to the challenges of a fast-paced environment.

Maintaining good communication skills, both written and verbal.
