Hourly wage: $15.00 - $17.75
Chrysalis is a company that provides a variety of support services for at-risk adults and/or juveniles who have developmental and intellectual disabilities. This position requires the ability to work in stress‑filled, safety‑sensitive environments, follow pre‑approved programs, make crucial decisions regarding the care and treatment of at‑risk individuals, and communicate those decisions effectively to others. This role helps individuals gain greater independence by making a difference daily in applying the five Chrysalis values:
Respect, Safety, Fun, Mentoring, and Accountability.
- Punctuality and regular/consistent attendance at the worksite are required and the employee must adhere to the workplace schedule to ensure proper oversight of individuals.
- Stay awake, responsive, and communicate effectively with individuals.
- Teach individuals daily living skills.
- Plan appropriate activities for individuals.
- Create opportunities for people to increase quality of life.
- Provide a clean, healthy, and safe environment.
- Implement person‑centered support plans and follow behavioral plans.
- Supervise individuals according to the supervision guidelines and support the individual’s choices accordingly.
- Assist and supervise individuals with taking the appropriate medication.
- Complete necessary administrative tasks within established time frames.
- Complete all documentation required by Chrysalis and the state.
- Maintain communication with the manager regarding the individual’s needs.
- Follow the provider code of conduct / abuse, neglect and exploitation policy according to state standards.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Minimum 18 years old.
- Pass and maintain a passable criminal background check and LEIE per state regulations.
- Pass required controlled substance tests.
- Ability to speak, read and write effectively in English.
- Excellent public relations skills when working with individuals’ families.
- Ability to communicate effectively with medical, professional, and state employees.
- Demonstrate good judgment and the ability to handle crisis situations.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills when working with the individual and co‑workers (including the ability to stay calm and maintain professionalism under pressure).
