B. Parson Ready Mix (JBP), a CRH company and a leading ready‑mix concrete producer in Northern Utah, offers full‑time summer accounting internships for a select group of high‑performing candidates.

Our summer internship program is designed to give students meaningful exposure to accounting within a high‑volume, operationally driven construction materials business. The program allows candidates to evaluate JBP and CRH as long‑term career opportunities while giving our leadership team the opportunity to assess a candidate's analytical ability, work ethic, and long‑term fit within our organization.

As a JBP accounting intern, you will gain hands‑on experience supporting plant‑level and corporate accounting functions that directly impact production reporting, cost control, and operational performance. At the conclusion of the internship, interns will present key learnings and project outcomes to JBP leadership.

We are looking for students with leadership potential, strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and an interest in the construction materials industry.

Program Structure

The internship is approximately twelve (12) weeks in duration, beginning in early to mid‑May and concluding in August.

Interns will work primarily in Northern Utah, with time spent at our Draper headquarters and other operational locations as needed.

  • Plant‑Level Financial Reporting & Cost Analysis
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Assist with daily and weekly production reporting for multiple ready‑mix plants
  • Support monthly close processes, including accruals and cost reconciliations
  • Assist in analyzing margin contribution (MC), cost per yard, and operational KPIs
  • Provide support with accounts payable, billings, procurement, and receivables
  • Help reconcile production, materials usage, and inventory data
  • Support development of dashboards and performance reporting tools
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives to increase reporting accuracy and efficiency
  • Perform general accounting and administrative support as needed

    Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting
  • Sophomore standing or higher in an undergraduate or postgraduate program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale
  • Willingness to work in Draper, UT and travel to other Northern Utah locations as needed
