Southern California Alcohol and Drug Programs, Inc. (SCADP) was established in 1972 in a grassroots effort by community members seeking alternatives to prison for individuals with substance use disorder (SUD). SCADP is now a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing residential treatment services and outpatient counseling services to individuals throughout Los Angeles, as well as housing and supportive services for survivors of domestic violence.
SCADP now offers services with a continuum of care to underserved and disadvantaged populations throughout the Los Angeles area.
PAY RATE: $71.24 - $74.99 Per Hour

Job Summary and PurposeUnder the direct supervision of the Medical Director and the Program Manager, the Nurse Practitioner (RN) provides professional nursing services for the program. Acting both as a medical liaison and as a patient advocate, the Nurse Practitioner will design a health services plan and work with the primary healthcare providers for the clients.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provides nursing services including:
Physical exams, linkage to medication assisted treatment in collaboration with medical director, direct communication with medical providers, referrals to other provides and community health resources, general health instruction to clients, and instruction and in-servicing to counseling line staff including instruction on monitoring of self-administration of prescribed medication and withdrawal management. - Designs and provides a comprehensive health services plan for each client that includes a broad range of medical services including assisting clients with physical and emotional needs, and referral to appropriate service providers
- Assesses patient for appropriate MAT medication related to substances of abuse
- Documents patient's current medication list, including: name of prescriber, names of medication, dosages, frequency, duration and start date
- Participates in weekly case review with Program Staff to ensure best quality care for clients, and continuous improvement of services.
- Acts as liaison between Program Staff and Medical Providers, in order to coordinate best care of clients
- Maintain electronic health records and hard copy documentation of all services provided
- Other Tasks that may be required by the Program Manager
- Provide nursing care to program clients
- Design health services plan for program clients, coordinate care with primary and other healthcare providers, makes needed appointments
- Monitor clients self administration of prescribed medication, maintain documentation of all medications
Weekly review of clients’ care with program staff, coordinate reviews with primary care providers - Liaison between Program and primary care providers
- Maintain accurate health records of clients
- Conducts group education for clients, in-service training for staff.
- Other duties as required and is subject to change at any time.
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
- Current and valid California licensed Nurse Practitioner
- Valid Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Two years of work experience as a nurse practitioner
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Nurse Science, or Public Health Administration (or closely related field)
- Culturally sensitive and demonstrated ability and effectiveness working with mental health, substance use disorder, and veterans
- Experience working with the homeless population
- Bilingual (English/Spanish – written and oral)
