Provides direct acute inpatient dialysis (hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, apheresis) and charge nurse duties. The dialysis nursing responsibilities include monitoring patients during dialysis in accordance with MD orders, hospital policy, and CMS guidelines; assessing any emergent changes in condition and communicating with the patient, primary RN, and MD. Standards of professional performance required include ethics, education/competency, quality practice, effective communication, leadership skills, collaboration, and evidence‑based practice/research utilization.
Charge nurse duties include assessing patient and staff needs, coordinating care delivery and patient flow, and serving as a role model and resource. Responsibilities also include supervising dialysis technicians, delegating tasks appropriately, and identifying safety concerns to institute measures that provide a safe environment for patients and staff.

Required:
- Current California RN license
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
- BSN or concurrent enrollment in BSN program
Preferred:
- CNN (Certified Nephrology Nurse) certification encouraged
- 2 years Acute Dialysis Experience
