As the leader of the health care team, provides professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures. Demonstrates performance consistent with the Medical Center Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan of the organization. Remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats co-workers, patients, families, and all members of the health care team with dignity and respect.

This position represents 15 openings.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Leadership:
    Upholds policies and procedures, leads the health care team, delegates tasks, demonstrates accountability, understands scope, champions new ideas, leads change, uses communication strategies, mentors, shares responsibility, problem solves, prioritizes, supervises work, complies with regulations.
  • Nursing Process:
    Develops and/or contributes to individualized plan of care, ensures multidisciplinary planning, monitors progress, reviews plan, ensures standards of practice, develops discharge plan, ensures patient safety, ensures pain control, educates on medications.
  • Patient Care

    Experience:

    Practices customer service standards, promptly answers call lights, facilitates resources, protects confidentiality, maintains environment, treats families with respect, actively listens, provides information, exceeds expectations.
  • Team Commitment:
    Effective team member, confronts conflict, accepts criticism, mentors new employees, attends meetings, participates in professional development, supports labor-management partnership.
  • Fiscal Responsibility:
    Minimizes overtime, identifies system improvement, maximizes payroll resources.
Experience

Minimum one (1) year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in Emergency Department.

Education

N/A

License, Certification, Registration
  • Registered Nurse License (California)
  • Basic Life Support
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support
Additional Requirements

This position is a temporary seasonal position, non-benefited with a commitment duration of 5 months from date of hire.

Notes
  • This is a temporary seasonal position with the noted required hours of work. It will be full-time or part-time non-benefited position with a commitment of 5 months from date of hire.
  • Will be required to work every other weekend and some holidays.
