The Supervisor of the Rehab Office reports directly to Manager, Rehab Services. This role creates a smooth functioning environment through staff leadership, by setting and achieving objectives through interpersonal, interpretive, and technical abilities. The supervisor is the liaison between the staff, technology teams and support teams, also collaborates with Manager and Clinical Supervisor. The supervisor assists with operational development, database management, and training.
Directly responsible for daily departmental operations, in‑service/education, staff organization, staff schedules, continuous departmental and staffing quality improvement, and guest relations promotion under the direction of the Manager/Directorp>
This position will consist of 50% supervisory duties and 50% non‑supervisory duties.
Required Skills- Medical terminology knowledge
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both verbal and written form.
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills to collect and research data, identify and resolve issues promptly, follow up and document concerns, and efficiently coordinate resources.
- Demonstrated accuracy, thoroughness, and sound judgment.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; uses time efficiently, handles multiple tasks with interruptions, and adapts to frequent change or unexpected events.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Proven ability to objectively appraise and analyze others’ qualifications and performance, and to plan and direct their activities.
- Ability to lead a team while maintaining high engagement and performance.
- Ability to judge appropriate actions in response to changing circumstances or problems.
Required:
- High school graduate
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role in hospital, healthcare, & or Call Center (or comparable education in Healthcare Management)
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience with computer data entry and word processing
- Demonstrated teaching skills in orientation and instruction of new registration personnel
Preferred:
- Call Center experience
- Registration experience
- Extensive knowledge of insurance registration procedures to include HMOs, PPOs, POS, Medicare, Medi‑Cal, Affordable Health Care and Workers’ Compensation
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, organization development, or other related fields. Comparable experience will be considered.
