The Technology Services Assistant is primarily responsible for helping patrons troubleshoot technology issues, creating and teaching technology and maker-related classes, and assisting patrons in one-on-one Book-an-Expert sessions. This role requires very strong customer service skills and the ability to multitask with frequent interruptions.
Responsibilities- Assist patrons with technology issues and questions, both in-person and over the phone, while staffing the Computer Help Desk
- Create and teach classes for patrons of all ages relating to technology and makerspace equipment
- Assist with the 3D-print request queue
- Help set up and take down technology equipment for classes, programs, and meetings
- Handle the occasional low-level internal technology help ticket
- Prioritize and multitask in a detailed environment
- Support equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in the workplace
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Experience with internet usage, social media, software programs, operating systems, and electronic devices
- Experience in training and/or instruction preferred
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
- Experience using ILS software preferred
How to Apply
This is a year-round, part-time position with an hourly rate of $18.76 - $21.11, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include vacation, personal, and sick leave.
The typical schedule for the Technology Services Assistant will be Tuesdays, 5–9 p.m.;
Wednesdays, 9 a.m.
-1 p.m.;
Thursdays, 9 a.m.
-1 p.m.; three Fridays every four weeks, 9 a.m.
-1 p.m.; and one full weekend shift every four weeks.
