Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead an in-house Network team focused on meeting the networking, telecommunications, and cloud computing needs of the business.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of Cisco based enterprise network solutions including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.
- Manage cloud networking environments including virtual networks, Fast Connect, VPN gateways, and network security groups.
- Ensuring network infrastructure meets security, compliance, and business continuity requirements.
- Develop and maintain business continuity plans for network and telecom systems.
- Lead global network and telecom support operations, ensuring 24/7 availability and service quality.
- Manage voice communications systems, including SIP trunking, call routing, and quality monitoring.
- Optimize telecom costs while maintaining service quality standards.
- Monitor network performance, capacity, and security across all locations.
- Lead troubleshooting complex network issues and incident response efforts.
- Implement network automation and optimization strategies.
- Maintain comprehensive network documentation and topology diagrams.
- Partner with Security team to implement network security policies and controls.
- Collaborate with Application Development teams to ensure network infrastructure supports business applications.
- Manage relationships with telecommunications carriers, ISPs, and technology vendors.
- Evaluate innovative technologies and vendors to support business needs.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing network and telecom support team.
- Establish team goals, performance metrics, and professional development plans.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required
- Experience with network technology and environments including datacenter, private and public cloud, campus, and wide area networks
- Capable of developing solutions and diagnosing network issues.
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Quick to adopt new technologies, with strong communication skills, with ability to present to both technical and executive audiences.
- Independent, yet team-focused, with analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experienced in network security, LAN, and WAN.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with focus on root cause analysis.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Cisco certifications are a huge plus!
This position is located in Downers Grove, IL and requires occasional site visits to other facilities across the US. Candidates should reside in the Greater Chicago area without the need for relocation.
