Capstone Financial Advisors has an immediate opening for a Bookkeeper.
We are a fee-only, independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), providing high-net-worth clients wealth management services tailored to their unique circumstances. We are also 100% employee owned.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage and maintain the firm's financial records. This role involves overseeing financial transactions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial statements, client accounts, and the regulatory requirements specific to the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) industry.
Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain and update the firm’s general ledger.
- Record all financial transactions in accordance with accounting standards.
- Ensure all transactions are properly classified and recorded.
- Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist in preparing tax filings and financial disclosures in accordance with RIA regulations.
- Work closely with auditors to ensure compliance during audits.
- Monitor firm expenditures and investments to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Maintain necessary financial records for regulatory audits.
- Process and manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
- Track outstanding invoices and follow up with clients or vendors as needed.
- Assist with preparing billing statements and fee collection for clients.
- Track and reconcile business expenses to ensure proper allocation.
- Prepare reports detailing business expenditures for management review.
- Provide financial data to management to help with decision-making.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting for the firm’s operations.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in Quick Books and Excel.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and tax regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with the RIA industry and its compliance standards (e.g., SEC, state regulatory agencies) is highly beneficial.
- Strong communication skills for working with clients, vendors, and other departments.
- 20-25 hours per week.
- Based in-office
- Occasional overtime may be required, especially during Quarter End or tax season.
- Associate degree in Accounting or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in the financial services or investment advisory industry.
- Knowledge of RIA-specific accounting practices and regulatory requirements is a plus.
