Position SummaryThe HR Coordinator provides administrative support to the Human Resources department in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role assists with attendance tracking, leave administration support, onboarding preparation, employee communications, and training logistics. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, enjoys a support role, and maintains confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities- Reporting to the HR Manager, this role provides day‑to‑day administrative support to the HR Department.
- Assists with tracking attendance documentation, generating notifications to managers when disciplinary action is required.
- Maintains accurate and confidential HR records.
- Provides administrative support for leave of absence processes, including distributing FMLA notices, tracking certification deadlines, and maintaining leave records with the Benefit Specialist and HR Manager.
- Prepares monthly new hire orientation materials and supports onboarding logistics.
- Drafts and distributes communications that include bereavement notices, birth announcements, and company updates.
- Prepares and distributes birthday and service anniversary recognitions and facilitates company celebrations.
- Coordinates training room preparation and post‑event reset, including materials and basic equipment coordination.
- Leads efforts in United Way Campaign, Angel Tree Donations, and Company gift card recognition program.
- Serves as backup to the switchboard as needed.
- Assists/leads company events (Christmas Open house, Steak dinners, etc.)
Required:
- Minimum one (1) year of administrative support experience, HR preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred:
- Manufacturing or plant environment experience.
- Experience with Paycom or similar HRIS is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of FMLA and leave tracking.
- Ability to work in both office and plant environments.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift to 25 pounds (training materials, supplies).
- Ability to comply with all plant safety policies and required PPE when in production areas.
- Able to occasionally adjust hours for certain events/associate meetings.
