Position Overview

The Utility Worker will support the Dover Casting group in Dover, New Jersey, working the Midnight Shift (Sunday Night - Thursday Night 10pm-6am). Training will occur on the Day Shift (Monday-Friday 6am-2pm) and can last several months. The starting hourly rate is $25.66, increasing to $28.31 after 12 months. The role includes an hourly shift premium for off‑shift assignments. Responsibilities
  • Perform any hourly job (excluding non-fixtured cutting) supporting the department.
  • Assist in implementing EHS values and policy statements and accompanying principles.
  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate, and regulatory EHS regulations.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report job‑related illness and injuries per the Employee Handbook.
  • Report safety, health, and environmental concerns to supervisor promptly.
  • Attend all EHS training.
  • Utilize Kalamazoo saw, wet saw, AW Bell, pull‑down saw, water‑jet machines, and other non‑hand‑cut cutting equipment.
  • Perform MP identity marking on castings to maintain traceability.
  • Perform alloy verification procedure after certification is obtained.
  • Separate scrap and spruing with proper identity.
  • Perform K/O procedure, KOH soak/core removal procedure, water hone, sand blast/pressure blast cleaning of castings.
  • Maintain identity of castings through all operations.
  • Maintain records as required.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Follow all applicable safety rules and work safely at all times.
  • Perform other functions as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
  • Position involves access to export‑controlled items; offers conditioned on applicant’s ability to lawfully obtain access.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship unavailable.
  • No relocation benefit; candidates within 50 miles of Dover, NJ considered.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must pass visual eye exam and alloy verification certification.
  • Participates in problem‑solving efforts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Able to perform repeated lifting.
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Flexibility to work in many different jobs.
Physical Demands / Equipment Used
  • Alloy verification equipment.
  • Computers.
  • Cut‑off/grind equipment (manual and auto).
  • Shell removal equipment (pneumatic, hammer knock‑out, blast).
  • KOH soak and rinse tanks.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manufacturing environment (hot, cold, etc.).
  • Use of blast machines, grinding machines, hand tools, and other manufacturing equipment.
  • Must be able to use hoists.
