Wis Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Technician to join our team in support of one of our US Army programs. This role supports a full-service electronics assembly line, which includes freeflow and pick-and-place systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the hands-on operation, programming, and maintenance of advanced production equipment, while performing detailed assembly, troubleshooting, and continuous process improvement activities.

DoD Secret clearance.
Key Responsibilities
Production Equipment Management:
- Operate, program, and maintain various automated electronics assembly equipment, including reflow systems and pick-and-place machines.
- Monitor machine performance, conduct routine preventative maintenance, and perform necessary adjustments to ensure optimal efficiency and quality.
- Perform line setup and teardown as needed.
- Perform high-quality electronic assembly, wiring, and hand soldering for both through-hole and SMT parts (including fine-pitch components like 0201 chips and QFP components).
- Perform component-level product rework to minimize scrap and costs.
- Read and interpret complex schematics, technical documents, and blueprints.
- Execute systematic troubleshooting of defects at the component, board, and equipment level.
- Fluently utilize standard diagnostic tools, including Digital Multimeters (DMMs) and oscilloscopes, and other specialized test equipment.
- Isolate faults and repair complex electronic assemblies and circuit boards.
- Work with process leaders and engineering teams to identify, resolve, and mitigate production defects and issues.
- Apply problem-solving techniques to improve production lines and process flow.
- Design and build test tools for quality inspections and part screening.
Technical Expertise:
- Proven experience operating and maintaining automated electronics assembly equipment.
- Expert-level soldering skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in electronic troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques using DMMs and oscilloscopes.
- Experience working on automation lines performing scheduled preventative maintenance and error recovery.
- Prior
Experience:
Previous experience working on U.S. Government contracts or in a military electronics maintenance and repair role. - Specialized Knowledge:
Experience operating and maintaining equipment in a controlled manufacturing environment. - Design/CAD Knowledge:
Experience with electronic or mechanical design software, such as Altium Designer, Cadance, KiCAD, etc.
