Job Summary

Mon
- Friday 2:30 pm-11:00 pm. Installs, operates, maintains, and repairs all hospital mechanical and HVAC equipment and related machinery. Installs, operates, maintains, and repairs HVAC control systems, including pneumatic and electro-pneumatic systems that control all hospital building environments.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma. Related Field of Study required.
  • Experience:

    HVAC experience 1-2 years required and Hospital mechanic experience 3-5 years preferred. Experience in lieu of degree:
    Yes.
  • Licenses and Credentials (Massachusetts):
    Heating and Ventilation Engineer (preferred by Massachusetts Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters);
    Refrigeration Technician (preferred by Massachusetts Department of Public Safety and Inspections Division);
    Personal Driver's License (New Hampshire) (preferred by New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles);
    Fuel Gas Fitter (New Hampshire) (preferred by New Hampshire Mechanical Safety and Licensing Board).
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Knowledge of state and local building codes, blueprint reading, and use of tools and materials; ability to estimate time and materials needed to complete a job; ability to read, write, speak English clearly; ability to make independent decisions when warranted; ability to interact tactfully with staff, patients, family members, visitors, and government personnel.
  • Physical:
    Must frequently lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing 25–100 pounds; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
