Job Summary

Under the direction of a registered/licensed nurse (RN), serves as a member of the interdisciplinary health‑care team assisting in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment.

Essential Functions
  • Perform patient care‑related duties and clinical functions as assigned, including performing and documenting point‑of‑care vital signs, EKGs, bathing, transferring, ambulation assistance, feeding, etc.
  • Assist RNs and physicians with examinations and treatments as required.
  • Ensure patient rooms are stocked, equipped, and cleaned appropriately.
  • Collect specimens and document all appropriate information.
  • Retrieve equipment, set up, clean between uses, and report malfunctioning equipment per policy.
  • Document patient information such as height, weight, intake/output, and blood glucose results.
  • Assist patients with food tray setup and eating when necessary.
  • Communicate with nursing staff effectively and timely about patient care and condition.
  • Receive and direct medical staff, personnel, patients, and visitors.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred). Experience cannot replace a degree.
  • Licenses and Credentials:
    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification;
    Nursing Assistant (LNA – New Hampshire) preferred.
  • Experience:

    1–2 years in healthcare required.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Multitasking and handling stressful crisis situations.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Typing skills and computer experience.
    • Good interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication.
    • Ability to lift and transport patients safely per Safe Patient Handling Guidelines.
