Location: Materials Management, Purchasing and Copy Center
Status: Relief 0, works as needed per Relief Work Agreement
Shift: Days, 8‑hour schedule; warehouse operates 5:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. 7 days a week
Salary: $16.57 – $24.86 hourly
General SummaryThe Supply Chain Warehouse Technician is responsible for receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping medical/surgical supplies and equipment to the appropriate customers within the organization on time. They inspect shipments, handle discrepancies, and document all inbound and outbound packages in the supply chain Material Management information system (MMIS).
Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, and record deliveries; unload inbound shipments and stage per protocol; validate shipping quantities; and work with procurement to resolve discrepancies.
- Pick orders and prepare for shipment per pick ticket; use picking software to meet departmental productivity standards and ensure accuracy of shipments and shipping documents.
- Monitor inventory for expirations or loss; rotate products; retrieve recalled, expired, or contaminated items; restock in proper locations.
- Manage inventory with point‑of‑use systems; maintain records; assist with cycle counts and inventory analysis.
- Operate warehouse MHE—including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks—and receive trained lift‑equipment certification when required.
- Communicate with customers and staff via phone or email; handle questions or complaints and relay issues to supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; remove cardboard and sweep aisles.
- Assist in transporting specimens, mail, supplies, and equipment, including biohazard items and PHI, following proper storage and chain‑of‑custody procedures.
- Handle non‑controlled medication solutions and work in medication storage areas; transport locked medications as authorized.
- Respond to urgent dispatch requests and provide excellent customer service.
- Assist with unloading, sorting, breaking down inbound shipments, and picking orders for hospital/clinic needs using the ERP system.
- Manage and restock point‑of‑use inventory systems such as Pyxis.
- Perform all other duties within the scope of job responsibilities as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED (No prior experience required).
- Six months or more of Health Care Supply Chain, LEAN/Six Sigma, military, warehouse, or other inventory management experience.
- Certificate program in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Healthcare.
- Operational Efficiency credentials such as Six Sigma Lean Green Belt.
