Variable Shift | Full-Time
Compensation & Schedule
- Hourly Rate: $34.27 - $56.01 per hour
- Estimated Annual Salary: $64,000 - $115,000
- Schedule: Variable full-time schedule (80 hours per pay period)
- On-call coverage may be required (evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays)
The Cardiovascular & EP RN delivers specialized nursing care across cardiovascular, electrophysiology, and interventional neurology laboratory environments. This role involves assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures, performing comprehensive patient assessments, monitoring hemodynamic status, administering procedural sedation, and ensuring patient safety throughout the peri-procedural continuum.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare procedure rooms and patient care areas prior to patient arrival
- Review patient charts, lab results, and consent documentation before procedures
- Conduct pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure assessments
- Communicate abnormal findings promptly to physicians or advanced practice providers
- Participate in procedural safety protocols, including "Time Out" verification
- Administer procedural sedation in accordance with hospital protocols
- Maintain real-time electronic documentation using Mac Lab/Cardio Lab systems
- Independently circulate cardiovascular and electrophysiology procedures
- Assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional procedures including:
- Cardiac catheterization and peripheral interventions
- Electrophysiology studies, ablations, and device implantation
- Structural heart procedures (e.g., TAVR, LAAO)
- Neurointerventional procedures (e.g., stroke thrombectomy, aneurysm treatment)
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families
- Participate in staff training, preceptorship, and professional development activities
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- BSN must be obtained within 36 months of hire if not already completed
- Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
- Strongly preferred experience in:
- ICU, CVICU, IMC, or Cath Lab
- Cardiovascular or Electrophysiology Lab nursing
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure required upon hire)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Advanced knowledge of cardiovascular and interventional procedural nursing
- Ability to operate specialized cardiology and fluoroscopy-related equipment
- Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent emergency response capabilities
- Experience with electronic clinical documentation systems
- Ability to function independently in high-acuity procedural environments
