The Kent Campus is 90 minutes from Philadelphia, Washington, DC and Baltimore; the Sussex Campus is 30 minutes to Delaware beaches and relaxation in the sand.

Base pay range: $36.17/hr - $56.06/hr

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge, judgment and skill, are performed using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedures and nursing philosophy.

• Provide direct, professional nursing care to a specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
• Develop a patient-centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
• Counsel and educate patients and their care partners on treatment plans.
• Administer medications following the five rights of medication administration.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
• Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate.
• Consult with physicians to decide on the best treatment decisions when appropriate.
• Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
• Demonstrate quality, safe and effective patient care.
• Provide delegation to unlicensed assistive personnel and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
• Demonstrate standards of excellence with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
• Participate in decision making and actions based on ethical principles (RN evaluation).
• Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
• All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

  Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Credential(s):
  Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support (BLS)
• ACLS / PALS may be required per manager’s direction and timeframe; commit to seeking specialty certification within the indicated time frame during interview
