The Loop Roots Foundation is a nonprofit, tax‑exempt organization dedicated to supporting justice‑impacted families through transportation, therapy, and technology‑driven programs. Our mission is to remove the physical, financial, and emotional barriers that prevent families from maintaining meaningful connections with incarcerated loved ones, accessing mental health care, or navigating reentry.
Founded in 2025, the Loop Roots Foundation operates nationally, with an initial focus on underserved communities in Maryland, Arizona, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, California, and Virginia.
Our key initiatives include- Loop Connect A ride credit sponsorship platform that provides free or subsidized rides to prison visitation facilities, allowing families to stay in contact during incarceration.
- Loop Talk A HIPAA‑compliant virtual therapy program offering trauma‑informed mental health care to justice‑impacted individuals and caregivers, including children.
- Loop Troop Rideshare Partnership We collaborate with the Loop Troop Rideshare platform to ensure families have access to safe, reliable, and culturally competent transportation services.

About Loop Roots FoundationLoop Roots Foundation is a nonprofit organization focused on strengthening families affected by incarceration and supporting individuals during reentry into their communities. Our programs help families maintain connection during incarceration and assist individuals preparing for parole and release. Through initiatives like transportation support, family connection assistance, emotional support resources, and reentry preparation programs, we work to reduce barriers that many families face.
Position OverviewLoop Roots Foundation is seeking a detail‑oriented volunteer to assist with research related to prison outreach efforts. This role will help our organization identify correctional facilities and compile publicly available information needed to distribute informational materials to incarcerated individuals so they and their families can learn about available support services. This position is fully remote and ideal for someone interested in criminal justice reform, community support, nonprofit research, or social impact work.
Responsibilities- Research correctional facilities across selected states
- Use publicly available Department of Corrections inmate locator tools to identify individuals and facilities
- Compile inmate name, identification number, facility name, and mailing address into organized spreadsheets
- Verify mailing address requirements for correctional facilities
- Assist in organizing outreach mailing lists for informational materials
- Maintain accurate records and organized documentation
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets (Google Sheets or Excel)
- Ability to conduct online research and compile accurate information
- Interest in criminal justice reform, reentry services, or nonprofit community work
- Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly
- Experience with research or data entry
- Background or interest in criminal justice, sociology, public policy, or nonprofit work
This role will directly support Loop Roots Foundation’s mission to help families stay connected and prepare for successful reentry. The research completed through this position will allow our organization to reach incarcerated individuals and ensure their families are aware of available support services.
