We are currently hiring an experienced Medical Coding & Billing Auditor for a full-time permanent opportunity in Dover, Delaware. This role is ideal for a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) with strong physician coding experience who enjoys reviewing documentation, ensuring coding accuracy, and educating providers on best practices.

Position Overview

• Location: Dover, Delaware

• Salary Range: $53,000 – $81,000 per year
• Schedule: Day Shift

Key Responsibilities

• Audit provider medical records to ensure accurate ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Validate that clinical documentation supports coded procedures and diagnoses.
• Compile reports detailing coding audit findings and improvement opportunities.
• Educate physicians, coders, and billing staff on coding guidelines and documentation requirements.
• Work closely with providers to recommend clearer and more specific documentation.
• Assist with training revenue cycle team members on coding standards.
• Support compliance with federal regulations and coding guidelines.
• Maintain audit logs and track performance metrics.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) – Required
• Minimum 5 years of professional coding experience
• Experience with physician/medical office coding
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines
• Experience reviewing clinical documentation for coding accuracy
• Associate Degree in a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with coding audits
• Experience working in a multi-specialty physician group practice
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• Experience interacting with physicians to provide documentation feedback
